Reflecting on 2017 and boy am I ever grateful! It was a year full of weddings, new experiences, new friends and a lot of fun!! It is all in thanks to you fabulous people!! You have blessed me with the privilege of capturing your family in such an important time in your lives.
As I continued I thought, well what do my clients take away from a session with me? How can I better serve my clients?? With all the questions rolling around in my head I decided to make a short survey to find out the answers! If you have 5-10 minutes I would love to hear your feedback! This will only help me to better serve you and others moving forward. Photography and owning a business are an ever growing, always learning journey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your thoughts with me! Here is to growing and making 2019 the best year yet!
All you have to do is click here>> SURVEY!!
A little catch up on life here...I now have a 1 year old and almost 4 year old!!! Say what?!??!! Do any of you find yourself staring at your child in complete aw? Seriously as much of a challenge as parenting is on a daily basis it is undoubtedly the best thing ever! My 4 year old is a smart, caring, Walker Texas Ranger loving bunch of awesome. He is constantly saying or doing things that make me step back and think, man what a terrific little person. My other little dude is 1 and now walks (more like runs) everywhere! Seeing a baby walk has to be one of the top cutest things ever! He is a determined, messy, giggling little momma's boy! He look up to his bubba so much and tries to copy everything he does. We are finally to the point where they play together without someone screaming, which is a nice change of pace.
Well I could go on and on about my family but I doubt anyone but my husband would enjoy reading it J. I would like to take a moment to reflect on 2016 and how awesome it was because of all of you!!! That's right YOU, without all of your support I would be nowhere. Everyone had a story to tell and I am truly blessed you asked me to document it. I met some wonderful people and got to catch up with old friends. You make this one of the best jobs and I genuinely enjoyed each and every session. 2017 has already kicked off with a bang with an awesome newborn session (blog on that to come). Let's make this year the best year yet!! Love you all and thank you for allowing me to do what I love here at Grow with Me Photography!!
From my family to yours THANK YOU!

It was truly uplifting to meet some of the survivors and hear their stories. They all had such a positive outlook on life and what it means for them. The event kicked off with a survivor’s lap which was one walk around the track. From then on everyone was welcome to walk as much as their hearts desired. There was a tent where you could purchase a string and with every lap you buy a bead to put on it. The goal was to walk enough to make a necklace meanwhile all the money went to the ACS. Every so often they would have a themed lap. One that I thought was very touching was the Walk in Their Shoes, a lap of you walking while wearing the shoes of a loved one who has battled with cancer.
In addition to walking around the track the Indianola dance team preformed, they held a silent auction full of donated goodies and a pie auction. Never could I imagine a pie going for $150! It was entertaining to say the least and almost everyone went home with a delicious looking pie. The night came to a close with a paper lantern ceremony celebrating the life of the loved ones who lost their battle with cancer.
If you haven’t heard of this family friendly event I strongly encourage you to check it out next year! For more information you can follow along on their fb page, https://www.facebook.com/RelayForLifeWarrenCountyIA?fref=ts
Here are some of my favorite captures of the night.

A big part of the set is location location location! I usually have a good idea of where to go but ALWAYS let me know if you have a special place or idea in mind. By no means do I want to railroad your ideas, in fact I would love to build on them. The more open you are with me the better I am able to serve you. If you don’t have anything in mind great! More creative thinking for me! It’s like starting with a blank canvas and creating a masterpiece. Whenever I’m in the car, usually without the hubs, I’m scouting for new locations because who want’s the same background that someone else had!?! The set doesn’t have to be outside either. Let’s say you just welcomed a new bundle of joy into your lives an in-home session would work wonderfully! That way both you and your new family are comfortable. Also any business that grants permission for pictures to be taken at is another terrific option to the great outdoors. Here are some examples of each!
Stay tuned for more blogs to come!
